Life’s Events, unfortunately, also includes the death of loved ones and funerals. Funerals have a lot of the same emotions and family ties as weddings and other family events. Photo documentation of your beloved’s funeral or memorial service will enable you to remember the day, honor the families and give those not able to attend an opportunity to view, and honor the departed. It’s something that can be cherished many years from now... since, often, people gather at funerals who almost never see each other at other times. Especially important for grandchildren.
During tough times, everything seems to be a blur. I think capturing the people in attendance and the friends and family coming together is a good visual record of the service and a memory for the family to look back on once the grieving process has ended. Photographs of the cemetery is also an important place to document especially for family members that live afar.
My photographic documentation would merely be completing the story of your loved one’s life...a celebration of their life. My manner is very professional and I use discretion and sensitivity in all of my work. I understand, thoroughly, the pain and suffering as I lost my mother in 2002. I asked a relative to photograph the service for me and, though I could not view it for many years, when I look at the photographs now I am so happy that I can remember, with clarity, the coming together of my family and friends to honor and remember my mother.
